Dental Fillings in Tweed Heads

Tooth-coloured fillings at our Tweed Heads South practice repair decayed or damaged teeth with natural-looking results that blend seamlessly with your existing smile.

Dental Fillings Tweed Heads: Tooth-Coloured Restorations

Dental fillings remain one of the most common and effective treatments in modern dentistry, used to restore teeth affected by decay, chips, cracks, or general wear. At iHeart Smiles at Tweed Dental on Kirkwood Road, we use tooth-coloured composite materials that blend naturally with the surrounding tooth, so a restored tooth looks and feels indistinguishable from the rest of your smile.

A filling becomes necessary when a tooth has lost some of its structure, most commonly through decay but also through fracture, grinding, or the breakdown of an older filling. Catching these issues early matters, as a small area of decay treated with a simple filling is far less invasive and less expensive than the same problem left to develop into a situation requiring a crown, root canal, or extraction.

Modern composite fillings are made from a durable resin that bonds directly to the tooth, meaning less of the natural tooth structure needs to be removed compared to older silver amalgam fillings. The composite is shaded to match your existing tooth colour, shaped to restore the tooth's natural contours, then hardened with a curing light. The process is typically completed in a single visit under local anaesthetic.

We also see patients coming in to replace older silver amalgam fillings, either for cosmetic reasons or because the original has begun to wear, leak, or contribute to cracks in the surrounding tooth. Replacing an older filling with modern composite restores both the appearance and the structural integrity of the tooth.

Our Tweed Heads South practice serves patients from across Tweed Heads, Banora Point, Bilambil Heights, and the southern Gold Coast. If you've noticed a sensitive spot, a chip, a discoloured area, or a filling that no longer feels right, our team will assess what's going on and recommend the most conservative treatment that solves the problem properly.
