Dental Implants/Bridges
With modern dentistry, we can replace missing teeth without the need for dentures using dental implants or crowns and bridges to fill the gap with a permanent tooth replacement.

Replacing Missing Teeth
Whether you are missing one tooth or multiple teeth, a front smile tooth or a chewing tooth at the back of the mouth, dental implants can be a great solution to restore form and function. With modern dentistry, there are very few instances where we aren’t able to replace a tooth. The beauty of dental implants is that they literally replace the missing tooth as if it were never missing. They look great and function just like a tooth does (and need to be cared for like a tooth). The art is in the planning.
If the teeth on either side of the gap where you are planning to replace a missing tooth need additional support with a crown, we might be able to do those crowns and attach the missing tooth replacement to the crown on either side, thus “bridging” the gap permanently with a new tooth. This restores three teeth and fills the gap in just two visits.

You will always function better with all of your own teeth
If you have missing teeth, they can often be replaced easily and predictably (and painlessly) in as little as two visits and sometimes even one. We can often replace the missing tooth with a bridge or an implant. A bridge involves placing a crown on the teeth on either side of the gap and attaching a tooth to replace the missing tooth to each crown – “bridging” the gap. We prefer this when the teeth on either side are badly broken down. If the teeth on either side are healthy, then we prefer to place a dental implant. In both instances, we do not need to use dentures, and it is like the tooth was never missing. The art is in the planning.

Replacing the missing teeth can be part of the solution
If pain is caused by bite issues due to missing teeth, or if the bite has badly broken down to the point where there is pressure on the jaw joints and the jaw and facial muscles are having to work harder to compensate for missing teeth, then replacing the missing teeth can help stabilise the bite, taking pressure off the surrounding teeth and allowing the jaw joint and muscles to work in a harmonious manner. Often times, implants or bridges are part of an aesthetic reconstruction to restore proper form and function.
Turning a Setback Into a Smile Win

Actual Patient
This patient came to us worried about a large gap in her smile and a single tooth that was badly infected and starting to loosen. It had reached a point where the tooth couldn’t be saved and needed to be removed.
While that kind of news is never easy to hear, we were able to take advantage of the situation, planning a treatment that not only replaced the missing tooth but also closed the gap that had been bothering her for years.
The result was more than just a fix. It was a small transformation that made a big difference, both to her confidence and the overall harmony of her smile.
